About Apache Hadoop
Apache Hadoop is an open-source framework for distributed computing that enables the processing of large data sets across clusters of computers. It allows developers to work with data at scale by distributing both storage and computation across multiple machines, automatically handling failures at the application level to maintain availability. The framework is designed to scale from single servers to thousands of machines, each contributing local processing and storage capacity.
Apache Hadoop is developed by the Apache Software Foundation and written in Java. It runs on cross-platform systems and is available under the Apache Software License and the GNU General Public License. The project provides libraries and tools that implement simple programming models for reliable, scalable distributed processing without depending on individual hardware components for fault tolerance.
