About asitop

asitop is a command-line performance monitoring tool designed for Apple Silicon Macs. It displays real-time metrics including CPU utilization across P-cluster and E-cluster cores, GPU utilization and frequency, ANE utilization, memory usage, and power consumption for CPU, GPU, and other components. The tool also provides charts showing CPU and GPU power usage with peak and rolling average values. It works by leveraging the built-in powermetrics utility on macOS and requires administrator access to run.

The tool is written in Python and inspired by nvtop. It works exclusively on Apple Silicon Macs running macOS Monterey or later. Installation is straightforward via pip, and it operates with minimal performance impact on the system. The developer is tlkh, and the project is released under the MIT license.
