About autorestic

Autorestic is a command-line utility that wraps restic, a backup tool, to simplify backup automation and management. It allows developers to configure backups using YAML files rather than managing complex command-line arguments, making it easier to handle multiple backup locations and destinations. The tool supports incremental backups to minimize storage space, encrypted backups, snapshot policies, pruning, and automated scheduled backups through cron jobs. It also provides features for backing up and restoring Docker volumes, along with before and after backup hooks for custom workflows.

Autorestic is developed by cupcakearmy and released under the Apache 2.0 license. The tool is written in Go and includes features like exclude patterns, completion scripts for various shells, and a restore function to recover backed-up data when needed.
