About Bashly
Bashly is a command line application that helps developers generate feature-rich bash command line tools. Rather than manually handling argument parsing, usage text generation, error messages and other common command line interface concerns, Bashly automates these tasks. Developers provide a YAML configuration file describing commands, subcommands, arguments and flags, then run bashly generate to produce a bash script that parses user input, validates it, displays help messages and executes the appropriate code.
The tool generates standalone bash scripts that are human-readable and compliant with common shell formatting standards. It handles both positional arguments and option flags, supports subcommands, and includes standard features like help and version flags. Bashly also provides optional utilities such as color output, configuration file management and bash completions. The developer is bashly-framework and the tool is licensed under MIT.
