About Bifrost

Bifrost is an enterprise AI gateway that routes requests to large language models, model context protocol services, and AI agents. It provides adaptive load balancing, guardrails for enforcing compliance and blocking unsafe outputs, and supports over 1000 models. The gateway works as a drop-in replacement for standard AI SDKs, requiring only a single line of code change to integrate with existing applications that use OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, Vercel AI SDK and similar tools.

The tool is developed by maximhq and released under the Apache 2.0 license. It is written in Go and offers production-ready features including token management, cost tracking per team or virtual key, audit logging, and access control via single sign-on. Bifrost is available as both open source and as a commercial enterprise offering.
