About Blender
Blender is a free and open source tool for creating three-dimensional graphics and animations. Developers and artists use it for modeling, sculpting, rendering, and visual effects work. The software includes a rendering engine called Cycles that supports both CPU and GPU rendering, comprehensive modeling tools, sculpting features, UV mapping, and 3D painting capabilities. Python scripting allows users to create custom tools and add-ons to extend functionality.
Blender is developed by the Blender Foundation and is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 3.0. The software runs on numerous platforms including Windows, macOS, Linux, and various other operating systems. As free and open source software, Blender is maintained by its community of contributors and is designed to remain freely available indefinitely.
