About Grunt
Grunt is a task runner for JavaScript projects that automates repetitive development work such as minification, compilation, unit testing, and linting. Developers configure Grunt through a Gruntfile to handle mundane build tasks with minimal manual effort, reducing the workload for individual developers and teams. The tool runs on Node.js and works across platforms. Grunt was developed by cowboy and is released under the MIT license.
The Grunt ecosystem includes hundreds of community-contributed plugins that extend its capabilities, allowing developers to automate a wide variety of tasks. New plugins are published regularly, and developers can create and publish custom plugins to npm if existing solutions do not meet their needs. Grunt is an OpenJS Foundation project that comes with documentation and a getting started guide for new users.
