About Haskell
Haskell is a purely functional programming language that emphasizes immutability, referential transparency, and lazy evaluation. Developers use it to build reliable software by catching errors before deployment and to maintain codebases that stay dependable as complexity grows. The language lets programmers express domain logic directly in code and reason about large pieces of code through composition without global state or mutable variables obscuring program meaning.
The strong type system prevents many runtime surprises and enables powerful abstractions not possible in other languages. Haskell is developed by haskell-infra and released under the BSD 3-Clause license. The language comes with tooling including GHCup for setting up the compiler, cabal for building projects, and haskell-language-server for editor integration. It supports concurrent, parallel, and asynchronous programming across multiple platforms.
