About Joplin
Joplin is an open source note-taking application that allows developers and users to capture thoughts and access them across multiple devices. The app supports multimedia content including images, videos, PDFs and audio files, and includes features like a web clipper for saving web pages, customizable plugins and themes, and the ability to create math expressions and diagrams. Notes can be synchronized across Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS through various services including Joplin Cloud, Dropbox and OneDrive, with a command-line interface also available.
The tool is developed by laurent22 and built with TypeScript. Joplin prioritizes privacy and data ownership by using end-to-end encryption to secure notes and saving them in an open format. The application is open source, allowing users to always have direct access to their data. Joplin Cloud, the synchronization service, is hosted in France under European Union privacy regulations.
