About kdash

Kdash is a terminal dashboard for viewing and managing Kubernetes clusters. Developers use it to watch cluster resources and perform common management actions from a keyboard-driven interface without leaving the shell. The tool provides features for browsing resources like pods, deployments, and nodes, streaming container logs, port-forwarding, viewing cluster metrics, and troubleshooting issues. It supports resource management actions such as scaling, editing, and restarting deployments, with confirmation prompts for impactful changes.

Kdash is developed by kdash-rs and written in Rust for speed and responsiveness in the terminal. It reads the current kubeconfig and context, providing a tabbed interface with live resource watching and filtering capabilities. The tool is available through multiple package managers including Homebrew, Cargo, and Nix, and can also be run via Docker. It is released under the MIT license.
