About Kitty
Kitty is a terminal emulator designed for developers who work extensively in the command line. It uses GPU acceleration and SIMD vector CPU instructions to deliver high performance, along with threaded processing for responsive operation. The tool runs on Linux, macOS, and FreeBSD, providing a cross-platform solution for terminal-based work. Kitty includes extensive customization options through configuration files, keyboard shortcuts, color schemes, and layout management. It also supports extensions through kittens, which are specialized tools that integrate with the main application to add functionality like image viewing and file diffing.
Kitty was developed by Kovid Goyal and is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 3.0, making it free and open source software. The project is written in C, Go, and Python, combining these languages to achieve both performance and flexibility in its implementation.

OSC 7501 lets a program tell the terminal it is working, blocked, done or failed. Claude Code, Pi and Crush send it; few terminals show it yet.
