About Pandoc
Pandoc is a universal document converter that transforms files between numerous markup and document formats. Developers use it to convert between lightweight markup languages like Markdown and reStructuredText, as well as documentation formats, ebook formats, word processor files, and many other structured data representations. The tool supports conversions involving HTML, LaTeX, PDF, EPUB, Microsoft Word documents, and dozens of additional formats. Pandoc can be extended with custom readers and writers written in Lua, and it includes support for markdown extensions like footnotes, tables, syntax highlighting, and LaTeX math rendering.
Pandoc was developed by John MacFarlane and is released under the GNU General Public License, version 2.0. The software is written in Haskell and runs on Windows, Unix-like operating systems, and macOS.
