About parsedmarc

parsedmarc is a Python module and command-line tool for parsing DMARC reports, which are email authentication records that help organizations monitor and protect their domains from unauthorized use. It handles aggregate reports following various DMARC schemas and failure reports, and can also process SMTP TLS Reporting data. The tool can retrieve reports from email inboxes via IMAP, Microsoft Graph, or Gmail API, and outputs data in JSON or CSV formats. When integrated with Elasticsearch and Kibana, OpenSearch and Grafana, Splunk, PostgreSQL, or other backends, it provides visualization and analysis capabilities similar to commercial DMARC services.

parsedmarc is developed by domainaware and released under the Apache 2.0 license. The tool can optionally send results to various platforms including Kafka, Amazon S3, Azure Log Analytics, Graylog, syslog servers, or HTTP webhooks, making it flexible for different infrastructure setups. It transparently handles compressed reports and maintains consistent data structures across different report types.
