About pgloader

pgloader is a database migration tool that transfers data from multiple sources into PostgreSQL with a single command. It supports live databases including MySQL, MariaDB, and MS SQL Server, as well as file-based sources like SQLite, CSV, DBF, and fixed-width files. The tool executes migrations through five stages: fetching the source catalog, preparing the target database, performing parallel data copying, building indexes in parallel, and completing the schema with constraints and foreign keys.

The tool is developed by dimitri and is distributed as a self-contained JAR file that requires Java 21 or later. pgloader v4 is a rewrite in Clojure that maintains compatibility with v3 syntax, allowing existing migration scripts to continue working. The project is open source and available on GitHub.
