About Playwright
Playwright is a framework for web testing and automation that works with Chromium, Firefox, and WebKit through a single API. Developers use it to run end-to-end tests, automate web applications, and build scripts for AI agents. The framework provides test runners with features like auto-waiting, assertions, tracing, and parallel test execution. It also includes command-line tools for browser automation and a Model Context Protocol server for AI agent integration. Playwright is developed by Microsoft and is available under the Apache Software License 2.0. The framework supports TypeScript, Python, .NET, and Java, and runs on Linux, Windows, and macOS.
Playwright focuses on reducing test flakiness through mechanisms like waiting for elements to be actionable before interaction and retrying assertions until conditions are met. Tests are isolated through fresh browser contexts for each test run. The framework includes tools for recording and generating test code, inspecting locators, and viewing detailed test execution traces. For AI agents, Playwright provides accessibility snapshots and structured data rather than screenshots, allowing agents to interact with pages through element roles and references without requiring vision models.

The agent writes the film as code, headless Chromium captures each frame, FFmpeg encodes. LaunchVideo spends 100k tokens a film; a 14-agent reel cost $30.46.
