About Reader

Reader is an open-source web infrastructure platform that helps AI agents interact with web content. It converts URLs into clean Markdown, structured JSON, and crawl results, enabling agents to read, research, and extract information from live web pages. The tool provides four core capabilities: scraping individual pages, crawling multiple pages from a website, extracting structured data based on schemas or instructions, and opening cloud browser sessions for interactive workflows with automation tools like Playwright and Puppeteer.

The platform is designed for workflows including AI agent research, retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, price monitoring, competitive intelligence, and lead research. Reader is developed by vakra-dev and written in TypeScript. It is released under the Apache 2.0 license and offers a free tier with monthly credits, with no credit card required to start.
