About Remix
Remix is a full-stack web framework that combines a server runtime, routing, authentication, database integrations, a UI framework, and asset compilation into a single package. It is built on web standards and web APIs, allowing developers to build modern web applications with integrated systems for handling data, sessions, user authentication, components, styling, and file management across multiple JavaScript runtimes. The framework is designed to work with relational databases like SQLite, PostgreSQL, and MySQL, and includes tools for development such as TypeScript compilation, hot module reloading, and a command-line interface.
Remix is developed by remix-run and released under the MIT license. The framework is written in TypeScript and emphasizes a cohesive architecture where server, data, UI, and assets work together with a unified mental model rather than requiring developers to learn different systems at each layer.
