About restish

Restish is a command-line tool for making requests to REST-ish HTTP APIs. It discovers API operations, authentication requirements, and schemas directly from the server, eliminating the need to manually build or maintain local client definitions. The tool offers shorthand input syntax to reduce typing, output filtering to display only relevant data, and support for various authentication methods including API keys, OAuth, and mutual TLS. It works with OpenAPI specifications and can generate API-specific command sets from server definitions.

Developed by rest-sh, Restish is written in Go and distributed under the MIT license. The tool supports multiple data formats including JSON, YAML, MessagePack, and CBOR, along with compression methods like gzip and Brotli. It includes features for request caching, pagination, retries, and streaming, and provides a plugin system for custom extensions.
