About Rill
Rill is an open source business intelligence tool that lets developers define metrics and dashboards using code files, which run on an embedded OLAP engine. It provides a natural language interface for exploring data and generating insights, along with interactive dashboards and the ability to embed analytics into applications. The tool supports various data formats and sources, and follows a define-once approach to establish a single source of truth across an organization. Rill is developed by rilldata and is licensed under Apache 2.0.
The platform combines traditional dashboard functionality with AI-powered analysis, allowing users to ask open-ended questions about their data and receive visual answers. It uses a BI-as-code approach, where analytics assets are defined as SQL and YAML files in version control, enabling quick deployment and governance of business intelligence resources. Custom dashboards can be created and styled to match brand requirements, and analytics can be securely integrated into external applications.
