About RStudio

RStudio is an integrated development environment for the R programming language, used by data scientists and researchers for data analysis and visualization. It supports R alongside Python, SQL, and other languages commonly used in data science work. The tool provides features for code editing, project management, and package development. RStudio is developed by Posit PBC and is available as free, open-source software. It runs on Linux, Microsoft Windows, and macOS. The platform is built using C++, Java, and JavaScript. Posit also offers commercial products and services built on top of the RStudio ecosystem, including managed deployment solutions and a cloud-based code editor. The open-source IDE remains a core part of Posit's product lineup, alongside newer tools and AI-assisted programming features.
