About Sentry CLI

Sentry CLI is a command-line tool that connects to the Sentry error tracking platform and manages data for projects. Developers use it in continuous integration and build processes to handle debug information files for iOS and Android platforms, manage releases and source maps, upload code mappings to link stack traces to source code, send events, view logs, and set up monitoring. The tool enables developers to validate and upload debug information that helps Sentry extract stack traces and provide more context for crash reports on compiled platforms. It also allows for managing releases by creating, editing, and deleting them as well as uploading release artifacts.

Sentry CLI is developed by getsentry and works with the Sentry API to automate tasks that would otherwise require manual intervention through the web interface. The tool supports uploading snapshot images for visual diffing and can be integrated into automated workflows to streamline error tracking and release management across multiple platforms and project types.
