About sshx
sshx is a web-based terminal sharing tool that allows developers to share their terminal sessions with others via a browser link. It provides real-time collaboration features including remote cursors, live chat, and activity tracking across a multiplayer canvas where multiple terminals can be arranged and resized. The tool supports end-to-end encryption so that data remains secure and the server cannot see user input. It works across macOS, Linux, and Windows platforms and connects through a distributed peer-to-peer mesh network for fast performance.
The tool is developed by ekzhang and is released under the MIT license. It is written in Rust and designed to be lightweight and easy to install. Developers can use sshx for teaching, debugging, or providing cloud access to remote systems, and it integrates with CI providers like GitHub Actions to pause workflows and initiate collaborative sessions.
