About Watson

Watson is a command-line tool for tracking and managing time spent on projects. Developers use it to monitor how much time they spend on tasks, generate reports for clients, and organize work through projects and tags. The workflow is straightforward: start a timer when beginning work on a task, then stop it when done, which creates a frame containing the project name and associated tags. Tags can be shared across multiple projects to generate detailed reports. Watson stores all data locally on the user's computer but also supports uploading sessions to a remote server via the sync command for remote storage and sharing with colleagues.

Watson is developed by jazzband and is written in Python. It is available across multiple platforms including Windows, Mac, Linux, and BSD systems. The tool is released under the MIT license. Installation is available through various methods including pip, Homebrew on macOS, and distribution packages for Linux systems like Arch Linux.
